It contributes to being one of the leading ultraportable two-in-one laptops which are equipped with several privacy and security features, triple display choices, and better battery life. It has beaten the competitive edge successfully with the presence of amazing component options, stylish design.
Overview
While the model is smaller, you can be ensured that it does not compromise the performance of the laptop. The presence of webcam kill switch, the fingerprint reader, IR camera, mic mute button is useful in enhancing privacy.
This laptop runs the 10th Gen Intel Core i7 which is capable of performing the last-gen model. The best part of this product is the battery which keeps it running for about 10 hours. With the presence of refined design and different helpful features, it has become the number one choice of end-users across the globe. Lets see the HP Spectre x360 Review in detail.
Design
Straight after unboxing, it’s clear that the HP Spectre x360 is a very high-quality Laptop. The metal finish looks like the whole laptop is robust and the best part of this model is the smallest IR webcam of 2.2 mm which can fit on the thin top bezel of this model. It makes use of the drop jaw mechanism of Ethernet style which houses the full USB-A port.
The air inlets of this model were known to be enlarged for bringing an improvement in the cooling. The new edge to edge display happens to be another vital aspect of this model. Between the chamfered edges and faceted corners, this model looks similar to the master jeweler. A stylish Chrome HP logo is present on the lid which matches the pair of the shiny silver hinges.
Screen Display Options
You have three options with HP Spectre x360 Screen:
- 1080p Screen
- 1080p with a privacy filter
- 4K AMOLED without a privacy filter
Spectre x360 – 1080p Privacy (Measured using Spyder5 with DisplayCAL) | |
Brightness (Min. 250, Ideally 350+) | 556.7 cd/m2 |
Contrast (Ideally 1000:1 or higher) | 1927.3:1 |
Average color Delta E (Ideally below 2) | 2.51 |
Maximum color Delta E (Ideally below 4) | 8.04 |
sRGB gamut (Ideally 100%) | 95.5% |
Adobe RGB gamut (Ideally 100% uncommonly used) | 64.7% |
After all this measurement I can say this is one of the best Laptop displays I have ever used, even better than the 13inch MacBook Pro. The contrast ratio level is very impressive in Spectre x360 and the color accuracy is very good, perfect for most content creators but not very professional at the time when you work oh HDR footage.
Keyboard
The keyboard takes almost 65% of the layout and it’s very easy to get used to it. Even though it took 5 minutes to find the power button when I first got this device, which is on the left corner of the device so that it works fine as a tablet. People are also fond of this model due to the keyboards of this mode. With the tighter space, the keyboard of the model is capable of stretching edge to edge which imparts an amazing look to the product. It boasts of ample key travel, which is much more as compared to other brands. The keys of this model are known to be some of the largest square chiclet-style.
People are also impressed with the font that can be amplified with the aid of the backlighting only. The contrast with the light is known to be reduced with the silver keys. A fingerprint reader is also present on the keyboard deck. The reader provides a good fallback option for logging into the Windows 10 instantly.
The flexible hinges of this model allow it to position the laptop into the tablet, studio, or tent mode. The hinges are known to be sturdy enough and the screen does not wobble in case someone tapped on the same with force.
This product is also loved by the end-users due to the amazing build quality. The new Spectre X360 13 is found to be rigid. The keyboard deck, the lid, and the chassis bottom is resistant to bending, prodding, and confers a quality feel to the laptop with the premium aesthetic.
Touchpad
The touchpad which is around 11.1 x 5.6 cm compared to 12.1 x 6.1 cm on the older Whiskey Lake-U model, maybe because of the smaller chassis size. The cursor control in this device is smooth at all speed and its free of any jitters. You feel the pressure when you click, it takes a little bit of force, which sometimes you may feel tiring.
Ports
The USB-A port is another key point of this model which makes use of the drop jaw mechanism for fitting the port into the left side. In addition to this, it includes dual USB-C ports along with Thunderbolt 3 support, out of which one remains in the upper right corner of the bottom chassis.
Apart from this, it comes with the graphite sheet which is ideal in the dispersion of the heat effectively. While this model is not the thinnest one, HP allows you to make the best of the additional space for the reduction of the heat, which in turn helps in maintaining great performance.
The Spectre X360 of HP is close to perfection. The latest model features an elegant design along with slimmer bezels and compact chassis. The 10th Gen Ice lake processors of this model provide faster performance. Due to the battery life of more than 13 hours, you can continue to work for several hours without any interruption.
Other features
The HP Spectre X360 features Intel Optane technology along with the hard drive of 1TB. It also has a stunning touch display of 4K. This latest X360 comes with cutaway corners and an angular gem cut edges that lend a helping hand in making it stand out from different premium ultra-portable. It also stands second to none in bringing an improvement in the functionality. The cutaway corners present on the back edge has the power button along with the dual USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports. As it is capable of charging through the USB0C, the angled port enables charging the X360 as you try to keep the cord away to use the mouse.
Power Button
The position of the power button present on the left corner allows you to find it easily without looking. it also offers the prerequisite chance for avoiding the accidental pressing in the tablet mode. You can access the button, at ease, irrespective of the position of the display. Because of the dual chamfer edges, it is easy to grip the model.
Port and Display
The left part of the body possesses a drop-down USB-A port along with the headphone jack. This model features the resolution of 1920 X 1080. Besides this, it also includes the 4K UHD OLED display option which is known to be factory color calibrated. Moreover, the full HD display of this model stands out of the ordinary in conferring better contrast, color, and brightness for improved outdoor use. The components of the Spectre are known to be geared for the average office and home usages such as web processing, word processing, and email. However, with sufficient muscle for pushing via more demanding work, it is inclusive of staff, which is known to be more graphics intensive.
Camera Quality
With the thin edges, you may think that HP would have compromised with the camera, but that’s not the case with HP Spectre x360. They have a Tiny IR Webcam with a 2mm lens which is very small in size, the quality is not that great, especially when you use the webcam a lot.
